Many sites on the web would like to make you pay for working barcode fonts. At Barcodes, Inc. we give them to you for free . This font is not crippled or limited or anyway. It is not shareware that expires or asks for money. It is freeware. Currently, we only offer a Code 39 (AKA Code 3 of 9) free barcode font for download, but we will continue updating this page with fonts that included different symbologies (Code 128, Codabar, Postnet, etc.). Please contact us if you know of any free (working) fonts that should be added to this page.
This font will work with any Windows or Mac program that supports True Type fonts including Microsoft Access, Micrsoft Excel, MS Word and QuickBooks.
Can you believe there are people who would charge you for a barcode font like this? It took very little time to make this so I thought I'd donate it to the world. It is suitable for scanning even at fairly small point sizes (with a laser printer). I have tested printed copies of this font with a couple different scanners and it worked perfectly.
This is 3 of 9 (sometimes called "code 39"), a widely used barcode standard that includes capital letters, numbers, and several symbols. This is not the barcode for UPC's (universal price codes) found on products at the store. However, most kinds of barcode scanners will recognize 3 of 9 just fine.
Now included with Free 3 of 9 is a new version of the font called Free 3 of 9 Extended. This version covers the extended 3 of 9 standard that includes all the ASCII characters.
Code 128 -- a high-density alpha-numeric barcode with three character sets. Our Code 128 barcode fonts allow you to print barcodes for Code 128, UCC-128, EAN-128, SSCC-18 and SCC-14 specifications. Below is a Code 128 sample.
Code 39 -- a self-checking alpha-numeric barcode encoding letters, symbols and numbers. It is sometimes referred to as the 3 of 9 Code. Human readable versions of this font are also provided. Below is a Code 39 sample.
Code 93 -- similar to Code 39 but requires two check characters.
Interleaved 2 of 5 -- a numeric only barcode used for interleaving pairs of numbers in a high density barcode format.
Code 2 of 5 non-interleaved -- a numeric barcode encoding numbers only.
Codabar -- a self-checking numeric barcode encoding numbers and four characters with a slightly higher density than Code 39. Human readable versions of this font are also provided.
Code 11 -- high density numeric barcode used mostly in labeling telecommunications components.
MSI / Plessey -- a barcode designed by the Plessey Company in England and has been used primarily in libraries and retail applications such as grocery store shelves. Human readable versions of this font are also provided.
PLANET -- used for mail tracking in the USA.
POSTNET -- used for mail addressing and sortation in the USA.
RM4SCC -- used in the UK and several countries for mail addressing and sortation.
UPC / EAN -- this font is used to print UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8 and EAN-13 bar codes; usually used in the retail industry. Below is a sample of the UPC-A implementation of this font.
